YF-19 Update June 11th.

Been a very busy and challenging few months.    Life has thrown up a few issues so I took most of the month of May off from the Podcast and from the bench for more than a few moments at a time.

I completed the main assembly and applied that excellent canopy mask from Return 2 Kit Form.  These are great masks and make a time-consuming and annoying task much better.

Next up is priming.  In this case Black Stynylrez primer from Badger.  I had done a base priming coat on the wings earlier in the build process, thinking I might prime/paint them separately.

The photo shows just after I applied the last of several light coats.

Next is the first of 2 coats of the underside color, AK11888 Light Ghost Grey FS36375 from AK’s Gen 3 Acrylic line.  I used a 50/50 mix with their thinner.  I did forget to put a drop of Vallejo flow improver in.  I did put it in the second coat and did notice it laid down much better.

Next up will be masking in preparation for the paint of the upper side.  I also have to come up with a name and a back story for this what-if aircraft in RCAF service.
