Paint Accuracy? We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Paint Accuracy!

Jon Bius writes on his site about paint accuracy and his thoughts match mine. Full disclosure… I was not alive in March 1945 to supervise the color application to this particular Spitfire. (Sorry…) I know some will swear the color brands called for are spot on, others will say they’re not. The only one who truly knows, I suppose, is that guy in the nacho line at the IPMS-US Nationals with the stained t-shirt. Apart from him, or perhaps an actual, real paint chip or artifact that is well preserved, or an actual eyewitness, we’ll never really know. Ever. (Except Marty and the Doc…) Yet many will pull their hair out trying to find the exact color match. Shizuoka Hobby Show 2018 Day 3

More great coverage from Shizuoka 2018.  The Modelling news has a great post with extensive coverage from all the manufacturers. Some highlights I noticed. A ton more photos of Tamiya’s 1/48 F-14D. Tamiya 1/35th scale Wespe SPG. Heller’s 72nd scale E-3 AWACS Sentry.  MPC is coming out with a new tool Hawk Mark IX from Space 1999. AV-8B Harrier II from Hobby Boss in 1/18!  (Garage to display it not included). Star Wars fans will like the Bandai 1:72 scale B-Wing Fighter. Have fun going through all the photos.

Shizuoka Hobby Show 2018 Day 2
