Slow and steady work on the YF-19 and I’m starting to work on a back story. It’s going to be the Avro CF-319 Gyrfalcon.
Got the masking done and applied the other shade of grey, let it dry for about 12 hours then removed the mask with no issues. I then shot Alclad’s Aqua Gloss on the top and bottom. I had a few issues with the coat on the top which resulted in a rougher texture than I wanted so a bit of sanding and respraying was needed.
Decals were from a Canuck Models CF-188 set which included some nice choices for squadrons. The decals went on with no issues and I found the scheme a bit more low vis than I expected. However, by the time weather and a satin coat is put on I think they will be fine.
