Space 1999 was a series produced for 2 seasons in the mid-’70s. The premise was that nuclear waste had been stored on the dark side of the Moon and following a catastrophic explosion the Moon was flung from Earth’s orbit. Each week the inhabitants of Moonbase Alpha discovered new adventures.
One of the episodes featured the Hawk MK IX, a fighter version of the Eagle transporter that was featured in many of the other episodes. There were plans to feature more episodes with the Hawk but it never happened.
This kit was reissued quite recently and the quality level is much improved over the much older offering.
