Since being taken over by Hornby, Airfix has been retooling many of its kits. One of these was the classic 1/48 Hurricane Mk.1 I built one of these several years ago and although it builds up quite well, you can tell the mold is from 1979. In 2015 Airfix retooled the Mk1, into a universally well-received kit. The kit contained parts giving a clue to what Airfix was planning with the mold, namely a tropical version and a Sea Hurricane version. The tropical version came out in 2016 and in 2017 it’s the sea version’s turn to shine. The box comes quite well packed and starts with some great box art. Thanks to Broughdale Hobbies for ordering one in for me.
Next project is the Tamiya 1/24 Porsche 911 GT3. I’ve always loved the look of this car so it will be a fun project. This will be my entry into the International Scale Modeller buddy build. “Top of the morning”
Several videos of the ongoing build of the Tiger 1 The plan is to build this up quickly and then spend quite a bit of time refining weathering techniques.
