The hull had already been started and the bottom painted, so I decided to start on some of the AA Gun subassemblies. With doing ships the secret is to do things as subassemblies before bringing them all together on the main hull.
Got all the emplacements off the sprues and sanding and mounted them to old paint stir sticks.
Tamiya has released a newer paint colour of IJN Grey. This saves me from having to use a spray can or having to mix colours for the airbrush. In addition to the IJN Grey there is also a deck tan that has been released as well.
The AA Guns were given a coat of Gun Metal and the first actual assembly began with the crane and hanger bay doors on the back deck.
