A long overdue update on the stuff I’m working on.
Quite a big update as I’ve been making slow and steady progress. After some photoetch was put on, the parts were then primed and painted XF-71. For me this is a ‘close enough’ match to RAF interior green. Once this has dried, additional parts are then put on after being painted up. Also some other painting is done in those areas that need it. The whole sub-assembly is then put together. The fit is quite good. I am always impressed with the quality and look of P/E instrument pan The two fuselage halves are then put together. Just a small amount of filling to do. I recently switched to Deluxe’s Perfect Plastic Putty and it is fantastic. No shrinkage and easy cleanup.

The inbox review I did on it was quite complete at the time so we will get stuck in. It’s been a while since I have tackled a WW2 1/72 kit particularly one that has photo etch. I have noticed over the last few years my eye sight slowly getting worse which has had me thinking about moving up to 1/48 scale. The only issue there is larger models take up more space to display. Since this kit starts with the cockpit area with a fair amount of photo etch I raised my work area up to make the job a bit easier. A magnifier is a must, I’ve notice that I’ve had to switch up to a 4X…
